Hilton Head Island, located in South Carolina, is consistently ranked ‘America’s Favorite Island’ and for good reason! For one, the island is full of delicious restaurants on every corner, so be sure to bring an empty belly. Here are a few of Hilton Head Island's most noted restaurants and eateries. With everything from burritos to seafood!

Breakfast:

The French Bakery $$:

  • This French bakery is located in Shelter Cove and is open for breakfast and lunch. I would recommend the Mixed Berry Crepe or the spinach, ham and mushroom quiche! Don't forget to get a few of the delicious pastries, definitely cannot miss!

Al’s Aloha Kitchen $:

  • If you enjoy refreshing fruit and Acai Bowls for breakfast or delicious Poke Bowls for lunch, then Al's Aloha Kitchen is a MUST!

Java Burrito Company $:

  • Java Burrito Company has to be one of the most highly recommended breakfast spots on the island! It is super trendy, giving me cute coffee shop vibes and serves both breakfast and lunch. Whether you are going for lunch to try their burrito bowls or popping in for a coffee and pastry, I highly recommend this place!! I recommend EVERYTHING!

Lunch:

Coast $$$:

  • This lunch spot is located in the Sea Pines Beach Club and is one of the best spots to have lunch on the island! I would recommend the yummy shrimp tacos and the refreshing Frozen Pina Colada (Virgin; if you are not of age)!

Salty Dog Cafe $$:

  • You cannot go to Hilton Head Island, and not visit Salty Dog Cafe! Located at the end of the island in Sea Pines, this is an iconic lunch spot on the island with a great atmosphere. I would recommend the Lobster Roll and home-made chips!

Dinner:

Old Oyster Factory $$:

  • This restaurant can get very busy and is one of the most popular restaurants on the island. It provides customers with a spectacular view of the marshland landscape that is truly a beautiful sight when the sun is setting. I would recommend the seafood platter or the flounder dish!

Poseidon $$:

  • This restaurant is known for its stunning sunset views of the marshland. For dinner, I would recommend the broiled lobster tail or the shrimp and grits. After dinner, Poseidon's roof top bar turns into the islands biggest dance party with live music and happy hour deals!

The Crazy Crab:

  • This place is so good, there are two of these restaurants on the island! The Crazy Crab has locations in Harbour Town and Jarvis Creek and is known for its seafood broils. I would recommend going to Jarvis Creek, as that will be the less crowded location. Additionally, I would recommend the original crab broil and the complimentary hush puppies are definitely a must- try!

Skull Creek Boathouse $$:

  • This restaurant is considered a landmark on the island and is highly recommended. We decided to make a reservation and head over to this award winning landmark known for its fantastic views, delicious food and great vibes. However, our experience was unfortunately not what we were expecting. When we arrived it was raining and we were not able to be seated at the iconic outdoor patio. We ended up getting a table at the covered outdoor area that seemed like an extension to the restaurant. We then ordered drinks and food and were disappointed that it was not as good as people had said. In my opinion, there are other restaurants with better food and entertainment.

OMBRA Cucina Italiana:

  • This is the perfect option if you have had enough seafood on your trip! OMBRA Cucina came highly recommended on the island and I can see why! This place is a hidden gem! I would recommend the homemade ravioli or gnocchi.

Traveler Tip: Be sure to make dinner reservations for most of the restaurants on the island, as the wait can get really long!

Dessert:

Frozen Moo $:

  • Located in the Coligny Plaza, this yummy ice cream parlor is family- owned and serves more than 90 flavors of ice cream, frozen yogurt and sherbet. I recommend the mint choc chip or the strawberry cheesecake flavor. However, i'm 100% sure whichever flavor you choose will satisfy your sweet tooth.

Beach Bar:

Tiki Hut:

  • The Tiki Hut is an affordable beach bar located on Coligny Beach. So naturally, its the island's most well- known and packed beach bar. The drinks are more affordable than any of the resort bars and there is live entertainment all day. I would recommend the Miami Vice which is a frozen pina colada with strawberry puree mixed. Another delicious and refreshing choice is the Lava Flow which is a frozen mango daiquiri layered with strawberry puree.

Coco's on the Beach:

  • Coco's on the Beach is a colorful beach bar located at Singleton Beach. You can access Coco's by walking or riding your bikes down the beach or driving to the end of the boardwalk at Hilton Head Resort.
