TikTok has created some pretty great trends, so it comes as no surprise that it has created a photo editing technique that turns your ordinary photos into sun kissed delights! I, for one, am so tired of trying to find the perfect photo app that provides the best FREE presets and being consistently unsuccessful. Also who has the time to learn how to edit on photoshop?? I love this editing trend because you can edit your photo right in your camera roll and it creates a really pretty end product without ruining the quality of the photo (as many presets do).

All you have to do is:

Open the photo you want to edit in your camera roll, then tap Edit at the top right of the screen. In the iPhone photo editor, there are 3 icons at the bottom of the screen. Or if you're editing a Live Photo, there will be four icons. These icons give you access to a range of editing tools for improving your image.

• Exposure: +100 (optional)

• Highlights: -32

• Shadows: -26

• Contrast: -30

• Brightness: -15

• Black point: +10

• Saturation: +10

• Vibrance: +8

• Warmth: +10

• Tint: +29

• Sharpness: +14

• Definition: +23

• Exposure: pushed all the way to zero (optional)

• Brilliance: pushed to +7

After playing around with these editing features, you will be able to alter the editing tools further according to your tastes and the lighting of the photo. For instance, I have noticed some pictures don't require an increase in Brilliance and others I wanted to add more warmth and less tint.

I have edited a few photos of my own using this editing technique:

Note: I have found that this edit is not as effective for photos taken in direct sunlight. As an example, I used the photo below taken directly under the sun. As you can see the photo overall looks more saturated but does not have the same color effects as the photos above.

Overall, I think this editing technique is great to enhance any photo and is perfect for the summer time! I would definitely recommend playing around with the different icons and seeing what enhances your photo the best!
